I am not sure if it the ignitors I have purchased in the past are bad or my water heater just ruins them. I have to replace / repair the ignitor about every 8 months. I have tried cleaning and scuffing the ignitor and will work for a few extra months. But I have owned the water heater for 5 years and this my 4th ignitor. The company "Pexsupply" was great to work with, speedy delivery and great customer service.
