Access Door Specifications
For 16-3/8" x 16-3/8" Wall Opening
Material : 16 gage mounting frame.
Door : Flush to frame with reinforced edges.
Frame: Flanged to be 1" wide, mounting frame to have anchor straps. (optional).
Hinge: Concealed.
Access Door Fire Rating : UL - 1-1/2 hour "B" label. ULC - 2 hour "B" label. (optional)
Access Door Latch : Universal self-latching bolt, operated by either a knurled knob or flush key. When master keying is required, doors can be prepared for rim cylinder locks or mortise cylinder locks.
Access Door Finish : Steel: 5-stage iron phosphate preparation with prime coat of gray baked enamel. Stainless Steel: #4 satin polish.

Please Note: This access door comes standard with a Stainless Steel Screwdriver Cam Latch. The following are also available, but must be special ordered, as they are not included: Cylinder Lock and Key, Allen Head Cam Latch and Spanner Head Cam Latch

      I didnt. But I don't see why you couldn't. Its a REAL simple door. Just frame it in strong to the ceiling joists; unlike a wall installation, you will be putting a bit more weight, and for a more extended time, getting through to the attic space during actual use. Hope this helps.

      Yes this can be used for ceilings that are rated. It has no smoke gasket though and is only operable with the key or screwdriver, we placed a larger one in an attic below a living space in a residential setting and had no problems with inspections. May have issues in a commercial living facility or hospital. Hope that helps!
