This SharkBite temperature gauge with 1/2" tee is used to measure or monitor water conditions in water distribution systems. Quick push-fit installation as temporary (reusable) or permanent device in copper, CTS CPVC and PEX plumbing systems.

Sharkbite is great. No leaks! The temperature gauges are essential in monitoring my water tempering system. Without them, I would have no idea what was REALLY happening, temperature wise.

I have used 2 of these gauges in my DHW system and both seem to be working great. I used one to measure the output temperature of a woodstove heated 80 gallon water tank and the second to measure the the temperature of the DHW supplied to my house after a temporing valve. The only problem I currently see is the 3/4" release tool does not work on the 1/2" tee if only the gauge ever needs replaced.

Very good product. We can now check the water temperature of our outdoor furnace inside. Sure makes it handy when we don't have to run out to the furnace every time. Would buy the product again.

This is the first time I used a Sharkbite. I installed it onto copper, and it was a snap. The tube goes in, but not out (without a special tool). I confirmed the temperature with a separate thermometer and verified the gauge is accurate. The sensor is right in the middle of the tube to give a good reading.

I'm useing them on a home built solar water heating system. One gage is on the inlet the other is on the outlet to the heating panels. They tell me the efficiancy of the panels as sun passes over.

  No, SharkBite fittings are currently only available in sizes up to 1". The 1" temperature gauge is part 22775.

Does the gauge come out of the well and still allow for water tightness? Just in case I ever need to change the gauge or install a remote sensor.

  No. Although you could probably use a wrench to remove the gauge, you would lose water tightness.
