Designed to simplify pipe installation. Instant push-fit connection for increased ease-of-use- no soldering required. Fittings certified to 200 PSI and 200 degrees F (93 degrees C). Fits OD controlled copper, CPVC, or PEX pipe. Design certified and agency listed. Compact, corrosion resistant, robust DZR brass body. Design certified to ANSI/NSF-61 product standard for use in potable water systems. No loose components, integrated design. Approved to be used underground and behind walls without access panels. Designed for hydronic heating as well as potable water distribution. Designed certified to IGC 188. Listed by IAPMO and are certified for potable and hydronic heating water distribution. Certified for underground applications and as a manufactured joint without access panels and they meet UPC, IPC, and cUPC requirements.

              I needed to add a hot water heater to my house, so I ordered Aquapex pipe and a bunch of Sharkbite fittings. This was my first experience using Sharkbite fittings, so I also ordered the Sharkbite Depth Guage / Deburr tool. One tool performs two functions. Use depth gauge to draw a pencil line on outside of PEX pipe. This line shows how far pipe should be pushed into Sharkbite fitting. The Deburr feature makes outside edge of pipe, at end where pipe was cut, smooth so it will slide into Sharkbite fitting. I really did not want to spend the extra money for this tool, but it saved me time, and I could instantly see when PEX pipe was completely installed inside Sharkbite fitting. After putting together 14 Sharkbite connections, there were NO leaks. You have to push hard to get pipe all the way in a Sharkbite fitting, so it is important to know when pipe is all the way in.

                          Needs room to turn in a tight spot - would be better if made with 1/2 and 3/4 arranged back to back with ears to turn. 1" rarely used so that could be dropped.
