Description for Generic LIFTGATE

The purchase of this item ensures that when the freight truck arrives with your boiler/water heater, the truck will be equipped with a lift gate. A lift gate transfers your boiler/water heater down from the truck and onto the street. All of our boilers/water heaters are shipped via freight companies and may be ordered with the lift gate.

Be aware that standard trucks do not have lift gates, therefore if you do not order a lift gate, you will need the assistance of several people to get the boiler/water heater off the truck once it is delivered.

Liftgate service includes removal of your package from the truck and curbside delivery. An additional charge is required for other services, such as inside delivery or pulling into the driveway. Please contact us if additional delivery services are needed.

                                      Deliveries should be made in smaller vans. As it was, the lift gate service was available and used, but the water heaters were delivered at the bottom of my driveway, on the road, more than 150' from where they should have been delivered. What good is lift gate service when it's on the side of the road?

                                                  Given that the water heater I bought weighed 150 pounds (a typical weight), the lift gate saved the day when it was delivered. Without it, I would have been in big trouble, hoping to find friends or neighbors who were home when it arrived. Instead, the delivery guy just wheeled it onto the gate, lowered it to the street, and wheeled it into my driveway.

                                                  Simple.

                                                  I took over from there with a plain old dolly.

                                                        Useful in insuring the product is received in best condition. The heater arrived strapped upright to a pallet. Inspection was at ground level after removing plastic straps with an ultility knife and cutting the box bottom. Have a hand truck to move it into your home. Driver was not required to help but did so.
