The Goodman SSX16 16 SEER Air Conditioner uses the environmentally friendly refrigerant R410A and features energy efficiencies and operating sound levels that are among the best in the heating and cooling industry. R-410A is chlorine-free to help prevent damage to the ozone layer. The SSX16 features a high-efficiency Copeland scroll compressor and is designed for the consumer who desires superior comfort, quiet operation, and environmentally friendly performance.
In order to achieve a 16 SEER rating the unit must be match with a variable speed air handler or variable speed gas furnace and with a txv-thermostatic expansion valve . A 16 SEER system will save approximately 7% - 8% more than a 15 SEER system.
**A federal energy tax credit of up to $300 is available on selected products, if placed in service from January 1st, 2009 to December 31st, 2009.
