I bought this pump to replace a series 100 B&G pump that went bad. I have a hot water radiator heating system in my house. The installation was very simple and straight forward. The unit is nice and compact, about 1/3 the size of my old pump. I like the 3 speed flexibility. This thing is quiet as a mouse, on first start up it was so quiet i was worried that it was not working! Hopefully i will get many years of service from the unit.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I had installed TACO ciruclating pumps with separate check valves. After 5 years of operation I had problems with the pump (died) but even more issues with the check valves. I cleaned them (work for a short time) that replaced them (and failed again). When one of the check walves failed again I replaced the pump with Grundfos (w/ check valve build in). Works like a charm !!!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

    what is the purpose of a 3 speed pump as opposed to a regular taco pump.I am installing it on a radiant system.

      3-speed pumps work in a wider variety of applications and allow installers to cut down on their inventory. Regardless of the type of pump being used, all circulators must be sized based on the GPM and head pressure of the system.

    Is it possible to connect 2 of these pumps in series? I have a high head system that also requires high flow. None of the bigger pumps will meet the requirements. I would like to put one pump in the supply line before the most resistance, and another in the return line after the most resistance.

      Connecting two pumps in series would boost your flow rate, but it would not do anything for the head pressure.
