Simple...Works Great

Comments about VisionPRO Remote Indoor Sensor:

I attached this to a Honeywell VisionPro IAQ system that I just had installed with my new Trane furnace and air conditioner.

This addition of a remote indoor sensor was rather simple. I just had to run some 18G wire from the sensor to the VisionPro module installed on my furnace. This attaches to IN1/IN2 on the VisionPro module and polarity does not matter. After this, go to the system settings on your thermostat and change setting "340" to either (1) remote indoor thermostat or (2) an average of the thermostat and the remote indoor sensor.

Comments about VisionPRO Remote Indoor Sensor:

I installed this item in the room we use the most and set temperature for 72F for confort level while watching TV. The rest of the house remains at 70F. It actually cut down on the run time of my heat pump. The room is 40 sq.ft. while rest of house is 2350 sq. ft.

This remote is a lifesaver

By TheDean

Comments about VisionPRO Remote Indoor Sensor:

This remote combined with the Honeywell unit that I bought means the difference between heat sores on my baby daughter and complete comfort. It has also saved on my oil bill. Being able to precisely heat specific rooms is possible with this even when the room with the thermostat is unused and you don't care about heating or cooling in it. I've heard about so many problems that people have had in their houses with some rooms being freezing and other rooms being hot. this solves that completely and can save you money at the same time. I wish that I knew about it earlier. I'm so glad that I found this.

Good indoor sensor

Comments about VisionPRO Remote Indoor Sensor:

I installed and connected this myself to a Honeywell thermostat so that it would monitor and control the temperature in my bedroom while the thermostat stays in the living room. Not only did it keep my bedroom more comfortable, it appears to have reduced our cooling cost as my other heatpump still does the living room area. Great easy to install product.

    Q:

Does this connet directly to the actual thermostat (VisionPro IAQ w/3 wire run to module) or to the separate module? From reading the instructions on line it looks to run directly from the remote sensor to the existing thermostat - is this correct? Thanks!

The remote indoor sensor connects to the IN1/IN2 connection on the separate electronic module; not the thermostat.

      A:

Hello, Yes the sensor C7189U connects to the thermostat, (in my case
VisionPro TH8110U) to terminals S1 and S2. So there are 2 wires between
sensor and thermostat. The thermostat then connects to the heat/cool
system as usual. Using the S1 and S2 terminals on the thermostat bypasses
the internal sensor on the thermostat. Hope this helps! BD

I have mine wired into the equipment module - there is a dedicated pair of
terminals for an indoor temp sensor and another pair for an outdoor sensor
on the equipment module that lets you make these types of connections
      easily.
I'm not aware of how you could wire it directly to the thermostat itself
      for an IAQ device.

You cannot connect two sensors to a Vision Pro or similar. You may connect one, four, or sixteen. Instructions are not really clear. Ohm's law applies on simple connections like these.

Unfortunately due to the configuration of the sensors (i.e. the resistive nature) it is not possible to install just two, you can install either one, four, or nine.
      Hope this helps

      A:

You can have multiple sensors, they just need to be perfect square numbers
like 1, 2, 4 or 9. Once installed and wired per the diagram included with
the sensor, there is a setting on the VisionPRO IAQ that allows you to
select whether you want to use the T-Stat's internal temperature probe, an
external probe, or an average of the two.
      More detail:
The IAQ installer manual can be found at:
      http://www.franklinheatandair.com/pdfeqmanuals/Honeywell/hwiaq1.pdf
Once you are in the installer mode, I believe the setting is 0340 and can
be set to 0 (internal t-stat), 1 (display temp at external) or 2 (average
      of both).
As for wiring, there is a wiring diagram included with the sensors
themselves that needs to be followed exactly, but in general it's a
parallel-series circuit if you need to install more than one sensor. I
believe with two sensors, you would connect terminal 1 on the sensor to the
t-stat EM, then wire terminal 2 to terminal 1 on the next sensor, and then
terminal 2 goes back to the t-stat's EM. In my install, I home-runned all
of the sensors to a screw terminal strip and then ran jumpers as needed
between each of my four sensors. They work extremely well in my
      application.

You can not connect just two. You can however connect 4. Weird I know.
But the math of resistors states that two parallel circuits of two units in
series will be equal to one unit. ( you will get an average of the 4)
We have done this several times in apartment buildings to get an average
reading from four apartments. The instructions that come with the sensor
will have a diagram showing how to wire in the 4 units. In my set it is on
      page 3.
      Good luck.

      A:

You would need to have two separate thermostats if you want two zones. If you use two sensors on the same thermostat, it would just create an average between the sensors.
