Installation only took 15-20 minutes. Once installed the unit worked perfectly. Beware that the installation instructions don't include a connection for C to the furnace which may be required.

My home is just under 1600 sq\ft with 9' ceilings. Last winter I was constantly getting shocked by everything I touched by static electricity due to the low humidity in my home. My gas furnace also irritated my sinuses by heating with dry, hot air.

After comparing the different TruSTEAM models, I thought about getting the 9 gpd model but finally decided to get the 12 gpd model. It's been operational now for 2 weeks and I instantly noticed a difference in air quality. These units are quiet which was a concern of mine prior to purchase. It only took 90 minutes to humidify my home from 30% to 50%. It has multiple wiring options for most if not all heating\cooling systems. Another great function is the unit automatically drains when not used in 48 hours. The only downfall is that it doesn't come with a water filter like it depicts but that is easily rectified by getting the RO filtration system.

I already know my gas bill is going to be a lot lower this winter since humid air takes longer to heat and cool than arid air.

This is a great unit. The steam humidifier is the best way to humidify the whole house. Very effective. WATER QUALITY IS CRITICAL. This is my 2nd unit the first was installed by a contractor without RO system and the heating element calcified in 4 months. Downside Heating element is not replaceable. Service is easy. Install was easy. Humidity is GREAT!
