        the only issue was installing in my 50 year old boiler. I had to design a rub goldberg adapter to attach the aquastat to the side of my boiler. not the fault of the unit.

              The on-line data sheet is in error. This aquastat IS convertible between horizontal and vertical thermowell configurations, and the data sheet in the package shows how to do this.
              I bought it by part number to replace an existing unit even though the on-line info showed horizontal apps only, but it worked out OK.
