OK, what does one say about an aquastat, especially a Honeywell. They do the job well and have a reasonably acceptable design life. Now with Pex Supply in the game, it is also possible to purchase this type of product for a fair price.

This was a refit for worn out Aquastat on my 10 year old boiler. the fit and electrical connections were perfect. The kit was complete right down to the heat transfer paste for the sensor. while the part numbers were not identical this unit was as close to a one for one match as I coulde hope for.

I couldn't find much info on troubleshooting my old relay. I didn't want to spend over $100 on something I didn't need but when I wasn't getting any output voltage on the burner side of the relay I had no other option but to order a new relay and hope that was the issue. PEXSupply delivered the relay as advertised and it fixed the problem. Easy fix and cheaper then paying a tech at least $100 just to tell you the issue.

  Maybe, depending on what you're using it for. L8148A1017 is a high limit aquastat that can only be mounted horizontally. L8148J1009 is an aquastat relay that can be mounted either horizontally or vertically.

  Both those items are obsolete and can be replaced by part L7224U1002. L8148A1090 can also be replaced by L8148A1017.

  I am not a heating pro. I would compare the electrical rating on each unit and the layout- horizontal/ Vertical. My swap had different 4 digit end numbers in the id and the match was perfect mechanically and electrically. The part # L8148A were matching on both units.
