a repairman told me that this product was defective and wanted to charge me 500 dollars to replace it .I was susie honeywell website and the part was about 300 dollars .I went to the PEX website and have it delivered to my front door for. under 80 dollars the replacement kit came with everything I needed to do the repair ,sorry for any spelling errors I am doing this from my speak to talk .

    Q:

    I now have a M847D1004 motor with a stripped out gear. I would like to know if the gears are plastic or brass and if this is a common occurrence in a four year period. The unit now is set for 80/20 distribution. If I purchase the M847D1012, is this easily replaced and set up for the same operation. I am very mechanically inclined and I certainly do not want to pay anyone $275.00 to replace it. What is the warranty on a new motor and can a gear be purchased for my old to keep as a spare. Thanks for your help.

      A:

      The longevity of a motor can range from 2 to 6 years, depending on the number of times it cycles. The M847D1012 is the correct replacement and the warranty on the motor is 1 year from the date of purchase. There are no parts available for the old and new motors.
