Does what it is supposed to do.

Installation (replacement) was much easier than they suggest in the instruction book.
Programming is a bit tedious, but need be done only once.
I would like an option for a real start-time e.g.- I set the desired temp/time for 0700 & 70 deg. for a small area of the house. The thermostat "anticipates" & starts warming at 0500, even though it only takes about 15-20 minutes to bring the room temp up, making it too warm to sleep.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Pretty good

Easy installation -this was a replacement of 20 year old badly functioning unit). Programming is a little tedious but straight forward. Not bad if you only do this once in a lifetime.
My only beef is the anticipation time of warm up- it is way too long. For example: the sleep period is set for 59 deg. and the "wake" is 70 deg at 0630. The furnace turns on at 0400 to get a "running start" despite this area is small, well insulated and takes about 20 min to raise the temp to 70 deg. I've tried moving the time later & shorter with only minor improvement. The "learning" period seems to have taught it nothing and the is no control over this anticipatory time.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Not perfect, but what is?

Some people claimed insallation was very simple, for me it was about an hour, the instuctions recommend a professonal. Otherwise it works and looks great, although there is no simple way to illumunate the display, without messing with the settings.

    Honeywell thermostat model #TH6110D1021: For this thermostat, can I adjust the "differential", that being the number of degrees between thermostat activation and de-activation? Vendor literature indicates the differential for this thermostat is 1 degree; can I change to 2 degrees?

    I have a large area being controlled by an old fashion controller which I like to replace. However, there is another slave controller to this controller (i.e., the second area controller could only be set to a given temperature but can not control). What kind of controller do I need (single stage vs. multi stage) Do I need to change both of them? I also would like to input a set of different settings for each day of the week. Do I need a 7 day controller vs. 5-1-1?

      You may want to replace both controllers with two new thermostats, one for each zone. If you order a programmable thermostat that is 7-day, you can have a different setting for every day of the week.

      The Honeywell manual lists the following as the recommended settings for wake: 70 degrees, leave: 62 degrees, return: 70 degrees, and sleep: 62 degrees. This would vary depending on personal preference, season and your location, so you can use this as a guide to adjust your own settings.
