Excellent Seven Day Programmable

I use this thermostat to control a hot air heating system, but it can be used to control many other types of heating and cooling systems. It can be programmed with up to four schedules per 24 hour period and there can be a different set of schedules for each of seven days. It is very easy to enter the same schedule for multiple days so this can be a 7 day, 5-2 day, 5-1-1 day or same schedule every day thermostat. There are two features which led me to choose this unit. The first is the temporary temperature hold which allows me to choose the time I want the thermostat to return to running the schedule. Many thermostats have a temporary hold feature, but often it either is for a set number of hours, or returns to running the schedule when the next programmed event occurs. I wanted more options than that. The second feature is the vacation function that allows me to choose the day and time when I want the thermostat to resume running the schedule. One word of caution: although the initial programming is not complicated, it is not intuitive. You must follow the instructions in the Installation Guide because each element in the setup is identified by a number code.

So far the product has worked just like I planned. One of the reasons I purchased this unit was the "circulate" function which cycles the "fan only" periodically to help even out room temperatures. A plus I found after purchase was the vacation hold function which lets you hold the temperature but will also let you set a time to take it off hold. I haven't tried this function yet but if it works, no more coming home to a hot or cold house.

The thermostat has a lot of good features and one particular feature that I like a lot. You can select the fan to run randomly. This feature allows cold air to be moved to worm spots and vice versed. With hot air rising and cold air falling in a two story home, this feature keeps a perfect temperature balance throughout the home. The fan still runs automatically when heat or AC is called for. It's perfect.

      A:

      This particular thermostat does not have a password lockout function. The only way to lock its screen is through the installer setup functions. It can be used with a C7189U1005 indoor sensor, which would allow you to control the temperature remotely.

It has got a great interface which allows for easy programming and simple operation, not to mention the fact that it'll decrease energy costs up to 33%. This product would work perfectly with your oil fired baseboard system as it is also a two-wire system wotj power to open and close zone valves.
