I am very happy with the Honeywell LineVoltPro Digital, Programmable, Electric Heat Thermostat. I replaced eight mechanical thermostats in my 30 year old home that was built with electric radiant heat in the ceiling. The installation was simple for a do-it-yourselfer with moderate electrical knowledge. The units are more attractive than the old mechanical thermostats. They are quiet and I have had no problems during the two months that they have been installed. For the first time in twelve years in this house, I am comfortable. It was impossible to tell what temperature the old thermostats were set at or to set them for any sort of efficient operation. These new thermostats tell you exactly what temperature the room is. I have already seen a 15% drop in the heating portion of my electric bill while drastically improving the comfort during the hours that I am awake and in the house. I expect additional savings as I tweak the system next winter. The thermostats really helped me understand how to use this heating system to greatest effect. Radiant electric heat is very slow to warm and very slow to cool compared to other systems. The room temperature also continues to increase for 40 minutes after the units are turned off. To have a comfortable house between 6:00 and 7:30am, the units need to come on at 4:45 and turn off at 6:30. Before winter effectively ended, I was able to take enough readings to determine that it is definitely less expensive to raise and lower the temperature during the day rather than maintain a constant temperature. To sum it up, more comfort, less money. They'll pay for themselves the first year but, the comfort alone is worth the cost.

THE PROBLEM I ENCOUNTERED WITH THE ONE UNIT I INSTALLED WAS THAT THE TEMPERATURE SENSOR OF THE UNIT WAS VERY SLOW TO RESPOND TO TEMPERATURE CHANGES IN THE ROOM(45 MINUTES OR SO). I HAD THREE DIFFERENT DIGITAL TEMPERATURE GAUGES IN THE ROOM THAT I KNOW ARE ACCURATE AND ALL WERE SHOWING OVER 69 DEGREES WHEN THE HONEYWELL UNIT WAS SHOWING 65 DEGREES AND STILL CALLING FOR MORE HEAT.AS SOON AS I WOULD WALK INTO THE ROOM I COULD JUST FEEL THE HEAT COMING FROM THE CEILINGS AND THE DRYWALL WAS VERY HOT. I CALLED HONEYWELL ABOUT HOW SLOWLY THE UNIT WAS PICKING UP THE CHANGES IN THE ROOM TEMPERATURE AND THEY GAVE ME A VAGUE ANSWER THAT THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AMBIENT TEMPERATURE THAT THE UNIT READS AND ROOM TEMPERATURE AND NO CLEAR GUIDANCE AS TO HOW QUICKLY THE UNIT SHOULD CYCLE TO THE NEW ROOM TEMPERATURE. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP SAID THE TEMPERATURE SENSOR MAY BE BAD IN THE UNIT. I DON'T KNOW IF ANYONE ELSE HAS ENCOUNTERED THIS PROBLEM, BUT I'AM LEERY OF REINSTALLING ANOTHER UNIT JUST TO END UP WITH THE SAME RESULT.

Installed 5 on the baseboard heaters at our lake condo. Shopped the net to find these. Install easily with instructions included, programmed with no trouble. Plenty of choices, plus an option to override to heat up the bathroom for a little while. We don't program the bedroom, just leave it at a constant temp. Attractive and fit the same "hole" in the wall that the old ones did. They are keeping our heat right where we want it. PEX was good company and delivery was prompt. My neighbor is ordering some for his condo.

I had this thermostat installed in all rooms in my house and I could easily setup a program on them all. It offers a high level of comfort by keeping the temperature stable, something my old thermostat (not digital) couldn't achieve.

It's a beautiful product compared to the digital programable thermostat I can find in Canada (they have twice the size of this one).

A quick tip if shipping to Canada... avoid UPS as they charge a lot of brokerage fee on top of the regular taxes. Ask the PexSupply customer service to ship with USPS, which turns Canada Post when it crosses the border and charges a flat rate of $8.50 (plus taxes).

My sons bedroom had an old dial type thermostat that would either make the room too hot or too cold. This thermostat will regulate hot much voltage goes to the electric heater to hold temperature exact. This solves the comfort problem and also efficiency of not overheating the room is an added bonus.

These are wonderful devices. The wiring diagram confused my installer and they didn't work at first. Once corrected, I was able to program them with little trouble and they function great. I haven't had them long enough to analyse any savings, but with the night time set back, I'm sure there will be some. It's also great that they "know" when to turn on in the morning to have the room exactly at your chosen set point when you awaken and get out of bed in a comfortable room.

Easy to install. Programming manual is poor and not very detailed. After reading it 3 times and playing with the unit I figured it out. It combines the processes so you have to really look for the information on resetting values in the preset program. Works great and I will probably get a couple more. Huge improvement over the dial I had.

I just purchased 3 more of these thermostats.. I now have replaced all of my ancient ones with these . They are great. Keeps the room temp within 1 or 2 degrees of the setting. I also like the preprogramed auto setting. Would highly recommend these thermostats. Also, Pex Supply shipped these out very promptly. They are great to deal with and had the best prices.

      There is a button to turn the light on. Then the light is on for about 10 seconds and then it goes off automatically. Then it is off. Easy to read during the day or when the room is lit up and the back light is great for when the room is dark.

    I bought this thermostat to control 120 V baseboard heaters. When I connect it up as per the installation instructions. everything seems to work but the heater does not receive any power. I have verified with a volt meter that I do not get any voltage across the load terminals, even though I here the relay switching. Do I have a defective unit or am I using it in an incorrect application?

      The application is correct and most likely the thermostat is not defective. As simple as this may seem, you probably have the Line and Load wires connected incorrectly.
      Look at the wiring diagram and follow it carefully. At first glance you think it connects a certain way, but in reality it does so differently. I know --- I made the same mistake the first unit I installed.

      If your display is working - temp settings, and programable displays - I would venture to bet you got a bad one, if your display is not showing swap the wiring around ... mine has been bullet proof, since I got it.  If you have any questions I called Pex on another topic and they were great with assistance.
