After much research into programmable thermostats for my heat pump system, I selected this one and have not been disappointed. I was looking for a reliable thermostat with outdoor temperature sensor (for compressor lockout and frost protection) and humidification control. This seemed to be the best one available. I installed this about a month ago without any problems. Adding a humidifier a week ago was also easy. The only slight annoyance so far is the fact that the screen is not touch sensitive everywhere, only in certain regions (although there are a lot of them). This means that when the room is dark, you have to make sure you touch the screen in one of those regions to get the back light to come on. Not a big deal, but it caught me by surprise. One nice thing, however, is that the screen dimly glows all the time. You will never see it, however, until the room is dark. It is the perfect level to find it in the dark. I would recommend downloading the more complete "Product Data" sheet from Honeywell. It contains further explanations of the setup parameters and how they are used. This stat does it all. And it simplifies wiring. Only 3 wires required between stat and Equipment interface module. I recomend this to everyone.

    Can this unit control my new Honeywell Whole House dehumidifier AND central AC?

      A:

      I had a new furnace and central air installed last year.
      I added a Honeywell whole house dehumidifier and installed this unit to control it all.
      The installation of the unit was straightforward, but as I recall I had to do some hunting to find the manual to program the unit. I do not believe that it was included along with the unit. I believe I found it online at thesite.
      Of c, it depends on how much experience one has with understanding and installing something like this. It might be beyond the ability of the average homeowner.

      It did for me, I have two of them. And the outdoor sensor is optional not necessary, I purchased the one without the outdoor sensor.

      Yes this unit can control your dehumidifier and your AC. I currently have
      mine working with my heat pump (heat and AC) as well as a dehumidifier.
      Make sure to understand how to connect the IAQ and how to set it up before
      committing to buying it.

      The wire panel has 2 contacts for the dehumidifier, that is in addition to the AC, humidifier, fan, etc. So it should be able to. It's one of the reasons I bought this unit, but it's still on my todo list.
