I bought this tool so I wouldn't need to worry about renting a crimper every time I needed to do a little plumbing around the house. It works fine for my needs but it was a little sloppy and takes a bit of adjusting to get it crimping just right. All in all it's great for doing small jobs around the house, or maybe if you only do PEX installs occasionally. It takes a couple minutes to switch the dies from one size to another but otherwise did the job just fine for me. I was pleased to see they included a couple of spare screws that might get lost as you use the tool over time- a very nice touch. Overall I'm glad I bought it.

Wroks as Advertised

I had to re-plumb the entire pressurized water system on a double-wide trailer. There was very little room underneath with insulation , dead animals etc. This tool and the PEX system saved me many $$$ and allowed me to complete the task in a reasonable amount of time (about 6 hours). I could not have done it with traditional copper or PVC. Tool worked great and was pre-adjusted as received. You really need two hands to operate the tool, so the fittings need to be in-place first. I twisted the tubing after the crimp to check. One connection was questionable after the crimp and was verified bad when it twisted easy. No leaks so far!! Great all around system.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I found this tool was fairly easy to adjust and use, and once adjusted performed consistently well for my first PEX plumbing job. My only disappointments were that the case did not fit the tool very well (you can't push it in easily, and then when you do get it into the case firmly it won't come out easily) and the supplied wrench was a joke -- it didn't even fit the adjusting screw on the tool, it was so badly sized. The tool itself, though, is great. Wish they'd have put as much effort into the case and wrench as they did the tool... my review would have been five starts!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Did a whole revamp of a hydronic system with 3/4" pex and the crimp tool worked great. I checked every crimp with the gauge and not a single bad seal. I was able to get the tool into some pretty tight places. Excellent tool at a reasonable price.

this tools is great and easy to use- easy to swap out dies for different size pipe as well.

Only issue is make sure you can get it into the space you need to before you screw fixtures in place

      This method does not require an expander. The fittings are press fit and then you put the clamp on it and compress it with the crimper. There is a template gauge used to ensure the crimp is good. I haven't used it much, but seems to work well.

      it's just the crimper, it comes with thecrimp plyers, and three different size fittings for 3/8", 1/2", and 3/4" crimps Make sure you have enough room where you put your pex pipe to put the plyers in the ceiling or wall far enough to get a crimp, I found that the expander tool is best for tight spots since you can expand the pipe outside of the wall then push it back in to make the connection

      You would need to use a press tool with that fitting. This tool is only compatible with crimp fittings, which do not work with PEX-AL-PEX tubing.
