  • Hydrovalve 1" Threaded Swing Check Valve

    Q:

    I have a well and pressure tank. The pump appears to come on regularly although no water is being used. The tank is maintained at about 40-45 psi. The pump should only come on if the pressure goes below 40 psi. There does not appear to be a check valve in the system. If there is one someplace that I have not seen, it appears to not be working (maybe there is one at the pump). I am considering using this valve so that the pump does not cycle when it does not need to. Will this valve work this?

      No, it cannot be installed in a vertical position, as per the manufacturer.

      You could make a short section of horizontal pipe and mount it there. Then continue your pipe in the former direction.

    Q:

    can this valve be installed in a vertical position so the flap has a more poitive closed position due to gravity? The amount of force o open it seems like i would still be vey little. Thanks
