Comments about Little Giant VCMA-20UL, 80 GPH Automatic Condensate Removal Pump:

I'm using the pump to remove condensate from a central air conditioner & high-efficency gas furnace, and to remove humidifier "runoff". It lifts the water about 13 feet vertically and moves it about 40 feet horizontally to a drain.

The pump easily handles the vertical and horizontal runs, and the check valve has no backflow.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

For the second time I had to replace the failed condensate pump which lasted only about 2 years. The only pump I found in the big nationwide retailer store nearby (too bad we discouraged from giving the names) looked just like the one I had. The price went up almost 30%, but little else has changed, it had the same toy motor, about as big as a chicken egg. These things are bound to break in a year or two. [...]the Little Giant pump cost me less. It appears to have a better design, and it has a better, more powerful motor.It remains to be seen how long it'll last, but I don't think I'll go back to that warehouse next time I need to replace a pump.
