works

Comments about Thermal Actuator for Mr. PEX Manifolds:

poorly written/nonexistant instructions. I used these in a system that uses several circulators, and Taco zone valves. Added these on a single large manifold (Rifeng) for zones that contained only one PEX loop. No instructions for that so it took a bit to figure out which wires were which. Yellow wires are transformer/thermostat. The Red wires go to the "T" terminals on the boiler control

works well once up and running.

Comments about Thermal Actuator for Mr. PEX Manifolds:

I have no experience to compare these to others.
I just got my system up and running this last weekend - 9 of these actuators.
They work fine.
One of them "showed" the end switch as being closed right out of the box. After actuating once, it worked properly.
I've got two that are in parallel on a Taco zone controller and right now they show the end switch as closed the moment the power goes to the valve.
So I'll have to disconnect one at a time and see if one's defective.

It came with two collars that can mount onto the manifold and the actuator mounts on the collar.
The very poor instructions don't say which collar to use for your specific manifold.

I think Mr. Pex is VERY underdocumented.

solid as a rock

Comments about Thermal Actuator for Mr. PEX Manifolds:

Actuators really tick me off when they go bad but the mr pex have been rock solid with no failures to date and I have some going back 10 years. Less pumps and more actuators and with mr pex I can stand behind this philosophy.

    Q:

    Well I have two questions
Why is there 4 wires, do they need voltage to open and close them.
    Are these heads 24 volts.

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

This is a 24-volt unit. It has four wires because two are for power (24 volts) and two are an end switch.
