Description for Robertshaw 41-412

Robertshaw's 41-400 Series Norton Hot Surface Ignitors deliver dependable ignition heating systems of every description. From furnaces and boilers to rooftop heaters, infrared burners, unit heaters, water heaters, and many other types of HVAC equipment.
The 41-400 Series Hot Surface Ignitors are made of high purity recrystalized silicon carbide which combines physical and thermal strength with stable electrical properties. The 41-400 Series are designed to reach ignition temperatures within 17 seconds. These Hot Surface Ignitors have 18-gauge nickel chrome lead wires embedded and metalized in place for maximum holding strength and electrical conductivity. The lead wires are also enclosed with a special high-temperature fiberglass insulation providing total electrical protection.
Note: All 41-400 series ignitors are 120 VAC models. Some hot surface modules are rated for 208/240 volts input, however they step the voltage down to 120 VAC.

Dont throw away your failed ignitor as there is a very good chance you will need the electrical connector and the mounting bracket. PEX supplies the correct wire marretts {joins the wires together after you splice}. I would order two at a time. The original furnace manufacturer doesnt build any of these to last so have a spare on hand. Be very careful as the element is extremely fragile!! I leave mine in the padded shipping box while I cut off and replace the original electrical connector.[...]

The ignitor comes with 2 ceramic wire connectors just in case the connector doesn't work. Was well protected in OEM box. Will be glad to recommend PEXSupply to anyone that needs parts!

I had to splice the wires and connect the wire harness from the dead ignitor. Was really easy to do and the wire nuts are even provided with the new ignitor. I am very satisfied with this product.

The mounting clips for the element seem to vary significantly from heater to heater. I was able to easily remove the element from the bracket it came with, and install on my existing bracket. No problems. Had to cut off the connector and splice wires with wirenuts - easy enough.
