As others have stated this product is so easy to install and it saved me the cost of the complete recirculating pump. I also would recommend the 006 series bronze pump. I wouldn't have had to change the cartridge if the plumber had installed it correctly. But even at that, it lasted 4 years.

Cartridge solved my problem of a grinding noise coming from the pump. I called Taco and spoke with customer service who explained to me that I may have hard water build up and a new cartridge should solve my issues. The cartridge took 15 minutes to install. Installation was easy and self explanatory.

The replacement cartridge worked fine and was easy to replace. The circulating pump in question was making terrible grinding noises and replacing the cartridge made it run whisper quiet again. That was the goal.

Easy quick fix.

This is easy to do. Hopefully when the original was installed in your house, the plumber put in two shut-off valves on each side of your pump. That way all you have to do is un-plug the electrical, turn the two valves off, place a towel or shollow pan under the pump, remove four case screws, lift off the motor windings. Then lift out the unit. Reassemble in reverse order. Be sure to turn the valves on before plugging the electrical back in.
