Pex had the best price I could find online [...]. These valve heads seem to last 10-12 years. I would suggest you make sure you use digital thermostats with these. The mercury switches in analog thermostats tend to bounce and arc, not good for your boiler/furnace control lifespan.

Comments about Zone Valve Power Head (Series 570):

This was an easy fix for a valve that wouldn't close one it was open. I think the wax had leaked out of the 20 year old one.

Great Product!

Comments about Zone Valve Power Head (Series 570):

Finally an example of great engineering. The powerhead on our 21 year old zone valve failed and I was very happy to find the availability of an exact replacement powerhead you can install without having to break into the system. Took only a few minutes to remove/install, turned on the thermostat and it's worked great ever since. Pex supply was also great with good photos and installation instructions on their site and getting the new part to me in just a couple of days.

Comments about Zone Valve Power Head (Series 570):

The old power head died in the way that it still could open the valve but could no longer start the boiler. PexSupply shipped it the next day after I placed the order the previous night. It was very easy to install -- I did read online instructions carefully before hand. Everything worked well after the replacement.

Comments about Zone Valve Power Head (Series 570):

one of the 3 taco zone valves in my home heating system was intermittently getting a call for heat but not opening up - installed in 1975 this same design is available 36 years later, just flip the boiler emergency shutoff, disconnect wires from the power head, push and twist off, and reinstall the new power head with reverse of this procedure, and done. Works like a champ!

What happens if I leave the vale open--

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

If you want to leave the valve open manually (because it's not working properly, perhaps), you might as well disconnect the wiring if you don't plan on replacing the head soon. Your system will operate as if there is no zone valve present.
