Good quality. Make sure you don't need one with a relief valve port.

  • 1" Full Port Forged Brass Ball Valve w/ Single Union End, Hi Flow Hose Drain & Reversible Handle

    Q:

My customer needs a 1" shut off w/drain to be installed indoors on the supply to his outside irrigation. I want to sweat the valve to 1'' copper supply line. Do the PEX SKU 41434 and the SKU 51434 both have sweat fittings on both of their 1 " ends? The specifications shown on the Webstone drawings don't seem to specify. Are these the best 1" ball valves with drains you would recommend for this application?

Both of the model numbers you mentioned have threaded connections. You may want to consider part 50674 or 50614.

      Hello,
Your question: "the PEX SKU 41434 and the SKU 51434 both have sweat fittings

      Answer: No.
      SKU:51434 Connection Type:
      IPS Union x Sweat

Propal specification with marks is attached.
I am not sure these are the best but they are very good.

The units that I have, Union Ball Drain, precisely as depicted in the picture in this e-mail (with the drain above the
ball valve) have a sweat fit on the top, and a threaded fit on the bottom (union end). They are described as:
      Connection Type:
IPS Union x Sweat x Hose
This link provides better pictures illustrating the two different ends:
      http://www.pexsupply.com/Webstone-51433-5143-Series-3-4-Full-Port-Forged-Brass-Ball-Valve-w-Single-Union-End-Hi-Flow-Hos
      e-Drain-Reversible-Handle
Not sure why these particular units have a different fitting on each end - you would expect sweat on both ends or IPS on
both ends, but that is not the case with the units I have as pictured.
Be aware not to confuse the two similar designs: Union Ball Drain vs Union Drain Ball; The difference being which end
      the drain is on.
Regardless of end fittings, they would seem an appropriate in function for the application described providing the drain
is located on the side you desire (normally the outside irrigation side of the shut-off).

If you need a shut off swet on both sides with a drain, webstone makes one, model 50614 for 1" pipe but does not have a union end. I am a plumber by trade and love webstones product. I have used these valves before and the only flaw is that the factory does not send them with their packings tightened, so after you get done soldering tighten the packing nut to avoid minor leaks.
