          Do I have to drain boiler to replace pressure gauge? Is it ok to wait to change it till spring when heat is off?

            You will need to drain the system to install this unit, and you can wait until the spring to replace it.

          I have a weil mclain combo gauge that is 3 1/2 in. long from the back of the gauge to the tip of the probe. Is that length available? Everything else seems to match up with the one I have

            The probe on the 510-218-097 gauge is about 3". That would probably be the closest match.
