Very easy to install, tubing is easy to install into the transfer panel! The heat transfer panel really works, it spreads the heat evenly throughout the floor. Highly recommend!! Only downside, you must make the pre-drilled holes for the screws larger and de-burr the ends of the panels as not to cut into the heating tubing.

Neither this site nor the manufacturer's own marketing literature mention these important specs: each panel has ten holes, five on each side, spaced 11.5" apart. The holes are 0.125" diameter, and therefore suitable for #4 wood screws. I used #4x1/2 zinc-plated screws for my job.

My original install was done by a contractor that only stapled 1/2" pex to the underside of the sub-floor. Although it heated, the boiler worked extremely hard, especially in temps below -10. I had more than enough loops per square foot, but not adequate transfer with just the tubing. With the transfer plates, there was immediate improvement in one area, not only in heating up, but the retention of that heat. I am currently doing the remainder of the house and hope to reduce my heating bill by (estimate) 40-50%. Although the ends of the channels have some minor rough edges, a large round file and a couple of swipes, and they are quickly removed. If at the end of the channel, some bending of the tubing must occur for a loop or corner, its' better anyway to file down the edges to eliminate any chaffing from the expansion and contraction during heating. Thanks folks, this is a great product!

Best heat transfer comes from a tight fit with no gaps between the Joist Trak and the underside of the sub-floor. Clip all nails in the way and for the most heat from the system, belt-sand the area where the Trak will go so the heat goes directly to the sub-floor, not the air. This is a bit of a pain, but well worth it.
