Description for Uponor (Wirsbo) LF4235050

The ProPEX® Drop Ear Lead-free Brass Elbow is available for use in hot and cold domestic potable water systems. One end connects to FIP (female iron pipe) and the other end of the adapter includes the Uponor ProPEX fitting for connections to AquaPEX® tubing.

                          They finally have this in one piece. I used to make these out of a 3/4" drop ear elbow and a 3/4" pes to copper! This is perfect for use on the outs to a water heater. It makes a much more solid installation than the pex to water heater unit.

                            Can I use this 3/4 Drop ear for a Rain shower if a transition the nipple to 1/2 inch?

                              I used male 3/4" with female 1/2" brass to step down to 1/2" shower head feed. Make sure fitting is also tapered on the 3/4" nipple end so no leaks. Good luck!

                              It depends on the requirement ofthe Rain Shower. You could also get the LF4235050 - ProPEXLF Drop Ear Brass Elbow, 1/2" PEX x 1/2" FIP and not worryabout having to transition. Typically shower heads only need ½” tubing,especially since everything is low-flow.

                              Yes you could with a reducer to 1/2", but may run into issues with how far it sticks out the wall. Another thought is to use a reducer as the pipe goes up and then use a 1/2" drop ear.
