Easier to work with than brass

These EP fittings are great. Saves money and they don't get dammaged in their bin. The brass fittings can get dinged up easily on the sealing surface but not the EP fittings. Also, non corosive and light weight make them a plumbers best friend.

Over a year ago, while renovating my kids bathroom, I decided it was a good time to replace the QWEST Polybutylane pipes in my house. I did a lot of research on the internet to find out what to use as a replacement. I found ProPEX to be well proven and and a quality product. I found it very easy to install and have not had any problems with the ProPEX pipes or any fittings. I would call the ProPEX system the cadillac of plumbing systems and would definately recommend using it.

    Q:

    This line item is identified as an "engineered plastic" elbow in the product description, but the unit cost is $7.85. Is this line item really intended to be a lead-free brass elbow? If so, the product description needs to be revised.

      A:

      Uponor does not offer a 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" brass elbow. This elbow is plastic, but all plastic elbows are lead free.
