I would definately buy this product

Comments about ProPEX EP Coupling, 1/2" PEX x 1/2" PEX:

Over a year ago, while renovating my kids bathroom, I decided it was a good time to replace the QWEST Polybutylane pipes in my house. I did a lot of research on the internet to find out what to use as a replacement. I found ProPEX to be well proven and and a quality product. I found it very easy to install and have not had any problems with the ProPEX pipes or any fittings. I would call the ProPEX system the cadillac of plumbing systems and would definately recommend using it.

They are good reliable fittings. I have used them many times during my
renovation behind walls. It is not like electrical where the expectation is
      to get at a connection..

Yes, I used many of these fittings in ceilings and walls. It's a good idea
to pressure test the circuit before closing it in, however.

      Ask your local plumbing inspector.
In many areas of the country they are approved for such uses.

I don't see why not- as long as the lines are pressure tested before they
      are concealed.

can this coupling be used to transition from uponor aquapex to a pex-b crimp type pex?

No, This is uphonor to uphonor. Crimp pex has different size connectors, so don't even try (I did).

    • VERIFIED BUYER

      A:

No.   This fitting requires that tubing must be expanded.   The crimp type pex cannot be expanded.  Right??

Answered on 3/16/2012 by Another PexSupply Customer
    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

No, this fitting is ProPEX on both sides and only works with PEX-A tubing and the expander tool. You may want to use a crimp fitting. These work with both PEX-A and PEX-B tubing.

  • Uponor (Wirsbo) ProPEX EP Coupling, 5/8" PEX x 5/8" PEX

    Q:

Are all ProPex fittings for I.D. pipe and if so i never heard of 5/8" I.D. pex pipe.
    Asked on 11/19/2011 by DK

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

ProPEX fittings are based on the nominal size of the PEX tubing. PEX is sized to have the same O.D. as copper. 5/8" copper, for example, has a 5/8" ID and a 3/4" OD. 5/8" PEX also has a 3/4" OD, but it has a .574" ID (PEX is thicker). This particular fitting (Q4776363) works with 5/8" PEX-A tubing using the expansion fitting method.
